The roots of Gray-Nicolls can be traced back to 1855 when, H J Gray the future world rackets champion and a well-known sportsman, first established the Grays business in Cambridge, England. By the turn of the century Gray-Nicolls was well established and used by iconic figures such as W G Grace who mused a Gray-Nicolls bat to score his 100th Century in May 1894.
