The Mitchell & Ness Gary Payton Seattle Sonics Road Swingman Jersey – 1995-96!
The Sonics debuted their new dark green uniforms and logo at the start of the 1995-96 season. The new look suited the Sonics well as they made it to the NBA Finals for the first time since the 1978-79 season. Point Guard Gary Payton was a big reason for the Sonics success in 95-96. He led the league in steals with 2.9 per game and was named Defensive Player of the Year. Despite their fresh look, and Payton's stellar play, Seattle couldn't overcome the Chicago juggernaut and lost to the Bulls in six games.
In 1967, the SuperSonics were founded in Seattle and played through until 2008. The Seattle SuperSonics name was selected by fans, inspired by the Boeing plant in Seattle, with the company working on an aeroplane that was to be called the "Supersonic Transport."
